One of the most challenging jobs nowadays is to be a cashier. Others say it is easy to be a cashier but if you look into the cashier duties and responsibilities, you may change your mind. For one, cashiers are one of the front liners in a business. They usually deal or get into contact with the customers and/or client directly. Since cashiers usually face the customers, they have to be respectful and patient in dealing with them no matter how demanding, bossy or irritating the customer may be. I remember what my college professor said the customer is always right in any case.

This teach us a lesson that the heart and soul of every business is the customer. For without the customers, a business will never be successful. That is why; customers should be treated with respect. Those who deal directly with the customers should be aware and practice such. Therefore, cashiers play a vital role in the business enterprise and to help keep customer service and customer satisfaction.

There are a lot of responsibilities and duties of cashier. The responsibilities and duties may vary from place or company or establishment where the cashiers are employed. The most common are the following: Cashiers should follow the rules and regulations of the company where they are employed; when dealing with customers, cashiers should always smile to brighten up the day of the customers. Study shows that people easily parted with their respective money if they are satisfied with the services offered and the respect shown to them. Another is to count the money collected from the sales of goods and merchandise. Cashiers may also disburse cash such as petty cash for the immediate necessity and expenses of the company.  Finally, cashiers should balance the amount stated in the receipt and the cash on hand with the products sold. 

A cashier, though a common job, it is tough. Do you want to be one? I guess it is interesting to be one and it will be a great benefit as well as enjoyment if you follow the duties and responsibilities.
